Ahh

I wasn't able to blog about it because I was too busy doing it. But I cleaned and coloured a shot.

I also helped Lauren out with her shot of the bug grubs by animating the 2 bugs to the right of the screen growing limbs.

Our team pulled through and submitted on time. It's all done!

And it goes on

So, I came into class and set out to do the constraint stuff I was trying to learn but instead I was greeted with suffering. Again, the bottle spun wildly when I attempted to rotate the cube it was constrained to simply. I spoke to Patrick about the issues I was having, and he suggested just moving the camera.

I spoke to Lauren about this and we had a good chat about the bottle needing to wiggle naturally so that it looks like it had more life to it. And I moved the camera to a slightly different angle so that it put the bottle in a position that both Lauren and Ethan wanted.

Cool, I rendered out 110 images and shoved them onto the drive as a .rar file.

Do you ever keep posting because I do

I'm not super fond of the bubbles anymore but seeing as our goal is to make our bottle as close to the fanta bottle in reality. Ethan also wanted the orange to be brightened up a bit. As always, my files are constantly being shuffled around on my harddrive so I end up having to reconnect them in maya. I should probably get a better file naming system and stick with it. I was taught to use camelCase in Lifeway - I should revert to that next project unless told to use something else.

Anyway, I should give this a good ol' batch render after speeding up the animation like Dane had advised me to. He advised emphasizing a fast turn with slow in and out.

I added in the necessary keyframes to make the bottle spin as described. I also fiddled aroundwith the graph to make it work a bit better.

Ok. After showing Ethan the updated bottle spin, he pointed out that Dane also wanted to the bottle to go up as well as rotate.

I just tried rotating the bottle with the same unfortunate spinning and wiggling as happened before. Keat suggested using a null object. I'm looking into it online but I've never tired to do this kinda thing before.
Oh gosh this seems really complicated.

Started helping with 2D work

Not awfully much, but I've begun adding limbs to a shot of the bug moving seeing as my time with the bottle is done.

I had rendered out the animated bottle so now I've been helping with the remaining bit of roughs.
